Join your era team at the “Focus on Green Technology” being hosted by the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU).
The District of Columbia has quickly become a national leader in sustainability from policy to implementation, with bold and ambitious energy goals to reach by 2032. At the same time, the city continues to experience an income gap and a market access gap that impacts who is able to take advantage of technologies that reduce energy burden. Join the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU), green energy leaders, and property developers and managers for a conversation on the impact policy is having, and the emerging technologies and innovative programs that can address energy burden here in DC and in other cities to ensure that residents, especially the most vulnerable, are not left behind as new standards and technology become the norm in an ever-evolving energy landscape.
PANEL 1: MARKETS, POLICIES, AND CODES
How do we design markets, adopt policies and enforce building codes that expand all households’ access to clean and efficient energy in the District? This panel will inspire a discussion around understanding the current status of markets, policies, and codes enabling healthy, energy-efficient, and clean energy homes and what can be done about improving all of those aspects in the District of Columbia.
PANEL 2: FROM POLICY TO IMPLEMENTATION
How does this work on the ground? Who is out there in the market implementing these technologies, providing services, and looking out for the most vulnerable residents? This panel will provide the audience with a perspective of how things look on the ground, elaborating on innovative technologies, concepts and approaches to energy efficiency and renewable energy and how these can be implemented among different residential building types.
