If you are looking to obtain Energy Star Certification in 2017, be sure you have all of your paperwork submitted by 11:59 PM EST December 15, 2017. According to the EPA Team, those applications which "require no significant follow-up or changes, will be guaranteed to receive 2017 certifications if approved. Applications received after this date may receive 2018 certification."
